Kyiv Reports Record Growth in Tourism in 2025
The capital received a record tourist tax in half a year during martial law.
In 2025, Kyiv continues to see the recovery of the tourism sector, the first signs of which were recorded last year.
According to the Facebook page of the Tourism and Promotion Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, last year the capital’s revenues from the tourist tax amounted to 50.83 million UAH, which significantly exceeded the figures of previous war years (in 2022 the tourist tax was 38.8 million UAH, and in 2023 – 38.5 million UAH).
“Currently, we already have even higher figures – 34.8 million UAH for two quarters of 2025, which is almost 65% more than in the same period of 2024, when the tourist tax amounted to 22.6 million UAH,” the report says.
The received funds, the department assures, are directed to the urgent needs of the city during martial law.
They also explain that these changes were made possible thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrainian cities on the development of domestic tourism, promotional activities both internationally and domestically, as well as cooperation between the tourism community, business, and local authorities.
